The special purpose vehicle Solar Imperium S.r.l., belonging to Green Enesys Group GmbH, is seeking financing to support the development and authorization activities of a BESS – Battery Energy Storage System plant, designed for the storage and subsequent injection of electricity into the National Transmission Grid.
The plant will be built in the Municipality of San Mauro Forte, in the province of Matera, in the Basilicata Region, and will have a grid connection capacity of 50 MW for injection and 50 MW for withdrawal. The project is identified and registered with Terna.
The connection estimate and the related Minimum General Technical Solution (STMG), transmitted by Terna on March 1, 2024, were unconditionally accepted by the previous holder of the application, Solar Ventus S.r.l., with the selection of "Hypothesis 1". The acceptance documentation also includes the bank transfer receipt proving the payment required for the acceptance of the estimate. During 2026, a request was made to transfer the connection application in favor of Solar Imperium S.r.l. The related procedure was successfully completed, and Solar Imperium S.r.l. formally acquired ownership of the Terna application, previously held in the name of Solar Ventus S.r.l.

The resources raised through the Campaign will be used to support the continuation of the technical, design, and authorization activities necessary for the development of the initiative, as well as to cover costs already incurred and those yet to be incurred as part of the grid connection process.
Solar Imperium S.r.l. operates within the pipeline of energy initiatives developed by the Group in Italy. The development model involves completing the technical and authorization procedures and subsequently monetizing the projects, including through sale to industrial investors, energy operators, or specialized funds.
The process of developing a BESS project is given below in a simplified way:
BESS projects can be developed stand-alone or integrated with RES plants. They do not currently enjoy direct incentives, but can participate in markets regulated by ARERA, GSE and Terna.

BESS – Battery Energy Storage System systems represent one of the most strategic and promising technologies for the evolution of the electrical system, as they make it possible to store energy during periods of greater availability and re-inject it into the grid when demand is higher or when operational conditions require it. Through the use of high-capacity batteries, these systems make the management of electricity more flexible, efficient, and stable, helping to balance production and consumption in real time.
The benefits derived from the adoption of storage systems are not limited to energy conservation, but also include support for grid stability, management of peak demand, reduction of congestions, and improvement of the quality and continuity of the electricity service. BESS can also provide regulation and balancing services, intervening rapidly in the event of frequency variations or imbalances between energy injected and withdrawn.
In the broader framework of the energy transition, the development of storage systems plays an essential role in promoting a growing integration of non-dispatchable renewable sources, such as solar and wind. The production of such plants is indeed subject to the availability of natural resources and may not temporally coincide with consumption requirements. BESS allow surplus energy produced to be absorbed, reducing the risk of curtailments to generation, and making it available when it is most needed.
From this perspective, BESS systems are configured as one of the technological solutions best capable of combining energy security, operational flexibility, integration of renewable sources, and greater efficiency of electrical infrastructures. Supporting the development and dissemination of such plants therefore assumes fundamental importance for achieving national and European decarbonization targets, contributing to the creation of a more resilient, sustainable energy system suited to future needs.

In recent months, the global socio-economic context has led to a strong increase in inflation, which is the prolonged increase in the average level of prices for goods and services: the ECB has therefore predicted an increase in interest rates on mortgages and loans with the aim of preserving consumers' purchasing power. The increase in central rates is a macroeconomic policy to counter inflation: the goal of increasing rates is a reduction in purchasing power, reducing available liquidity for both individuals and companies, to slow down the economy and avoid a continuous uncontrolled rise in prices.
In June 2024, after 5 years, the ECB made a first cut in interest rates of 0.25 percentage points following macroeconomic estimates, opening up new scenarios in the financial market.
INDEXATION TO EURIRS AND EURIBOR INDICES
Just as banks determine the interest rate applied to loans, in this case too, the interest rate is linked to the EURIRS index (in the case of a fixed rate) and the EURIBOR index (in the case of a variable rate).

With this new crowdfunding campaign, the group renews its commitment to an energy transition model truly shared with the territories in which it operates. The goal of the fundraising is not only financial: it is to involve local stakeholders, allowing specific categories of users to become an active part of the sustainable development of their territory.
TANGIBLE RECOGNITION OF PROXIMITY
The structure of the interest rates offered in the campaign is designed precisely to enhance this bond with the territory:
This differentiation is not a simple economic incentive, but a way for the group to acknowledge and reciprocate the closeness of those who inhabit the areas directly involved in the project.
A COMMITMENT THAT GOES BEYOND THE SINGLE PROJECT
Through this and previous campaigns, the group confirms a consistent line: making widespread finance a real tool for collective participation in sustainable development processes, building lasting trust relationships with local communities, and placing the territory at the center of every energy initiative.
The campaign stems from the desire to trigger a virtuous collaboration between business and the local community, with particular attention, in this initiative, to the residents of the Region affected by the plant. This choice reflects a guiding principle of the group: the energy transition must generate direct value for those who experience the involved territories daily, not be limited to an abstract environmental impact.
The total connection cost for the photovoltaic system is € 1.374.436,73 (including VAT). To proceed with the procedures, it was necessary to pay Enel approximately ~ 30%, therefore € 412.331 (including VAT).
The collection on Ener2Crowd will allow to refinance this amount, in order to continue with the authorization procedures and the development of new projects in Italy.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are devices designed to store electrical energy efficiently, using advanced technologies that allow the storage of energy produced, for example, by photovoltaic and/or renewable power plants, and release it when needed. These systems are essential for optimizing the distribution of renewable energy, improving the reliability and stability of energy grids, especially in contexts where production is intermittent, as in the case of solar and wind energy. BESS consist of high-capacity battery modules, which can be scaled according to specific needs. The stored energy can be used to compensate for demand peaks or to support electrical grids during periods of low production, ensuring a continuous and balanced supply. Furthermore, BESS systems help reduce the need for fossil fuel power plants, thereby cutting CO2 emissions and facilitating the transition to a sustainable energy mix. From a financial perspective, BESS offer significant advantages, as they allow for maximizing the use of generated energy, reducing operating costs, and optimizing the management of energy flows. In many jurisdictions, the installation of storage systems is incentivized thanks to support policies that promote the adoption of innovative and sustainable energy solutions. Estimates indicate rapid growth for BESS systems in the coming years. In 2022, the global market recorded an installed storage capacity of approximately 15 GW, with growth forecasts exceeding 20% annually, bringing the total to over 60 GW by 2030. This development will significantly contribute to the decarbonization of global electrical grids, making the energy system more resilient, efficient, and with a low environmental impact.
Investing in BESS therefore represents a strategic choice not only to improve energy management efficiency, but also to promote a sustainable energy future, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to the fight against climate change.
BESS systems do not generate directly clean energy, but enhance the effectiveness of existing renewable sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, accelerating the energy transition.
Investing means evaluating not only return prospects, but also the destination of capital and the contribution it can generate over time.
